FAQs
What number should I put in the quantity box?
Our fabrics are sold in half metre increments, so 1 unit equals 0.5 metres, 2 units = 1 metre, 3 units = 1.5metres and so on... Basically what ever measurement you need in meters, double it up and you'll have the unit you need. if you need 3.5 metres, put 7 in the quantity box.
Can this medium weight quilting cotton be used for curtains?
You can, but we would recommend lining it. Our quilting cottons are a little bit too thin to use on their own, it will let the light through, and won't insulate either. Medium and light weight cotton are fine for curtains and blinds as long as you use a heavier interlining or canvas, plain thicker fabric on reverse.
Should I prewash my fabric?
Yes! we always recommend you prewash your fabric before start sewing. From experience, most fabrics don't shrink much but there is always a possibility of shrinkage or maybe the colour to run so it's always best to pre-wash.
