Typically, fleece is created from polyester. The fibres are woven into a light fabric which is brushed to help the fibres increase in volume. These characteristics make fleece great for keeping in the warmth, making these fabrics ideally for blankets and quilt backing. Lighter fleeces could be suitable for activewear.
